Well it was a solid start to my season in the sun drenched island of Mallorca. I finished third, shooting one over for two rounds at the Son Gual resort. The game was a bit rusty the first day but after the first few holes I settled into some great ball striking and more importantly some great putting! I recently made the switch to the belly putter and I already feel that this will be a massive step in the right direction for the scoring aspect of my game. Back to “project managing” the development of my new house when I get back and the short wait for the arrival of my first baby! All great stuff!!!

Well what can I say other than what a great end to a great week!!! Another victory, courtesy of myself and David Orr shooting a ridiculously low round of 13 under par 60 to come from four back to win the Skins national championship by three shots! Both of us played fantastic and dovetailed perfectly, which resulted in us shooting the lowest score of the day by 5. On a personal note my game was extremely solid….hitting 16 greens in reg and making 8 birdies with my own ball with 2 other opportunities inside 10 feet not required with David holing out before me. Feel as though I am playing some fantastic golf at the moment with me winning 3 of my last 4 events and playing some great stuff into the bargain. Scottish championship next week at Gleneagles and looking very much forward to the prospect of getting myself in contention and capping off an already great season. Can’t wait!!

Had a great couple of days down in “not so sunny Scunthorpe” at Forest Pines golf club. The golf course is fantastic and puts a real premium on ball flight and trajectory control, especially in the tough 30 MPH cross wind that’s been sweeping across the course the last two days. That said Mr Orr and myself have been playing some sterling stuff and find ourselves in 4rth position on 10 under going into the last round. We seem to play well as a team….me as Mr Consistency and Dave as the streaky birdie machine!! Long may it continue! Both of us feel great about tomorrow and will be looking to add to our haul of titles!!

Yet another solid performance today and yesterday saw me capture the Sprint series crown at The Dukes in St Andrews. I only won by one shot, however, the standard of my golf was immaculate and taking away a double on 15, great drive that found its way into a fairway trap somehow, I would have won alot more convincingly!! Big thanks to my Dad who spent most of Thursday and Friday tidying up my putting mechanics after my dismal display on the greens at Brora…..it’s amazing the regularity of times when “you’re old boy really does know best”!!! Heading down to Forest pines for the final of the Skins fourball with my very capable partner in crime David Orr then on the Scottish Championship next week………perfect!

Played really well but unfortunately played in the last group out and fell foul of a 30mph wind that kicked up in the afternoon.

A disappointing day yesterday, played at The Roxburghe and shot a very poor 3 over par score of 75. I think I underestimated the effects of playing for the previous two days in a howling gale on my golf swing and certainly didn’t feel I had it in the usual slot. Still, I quick check up at the Braids on the Gasp system and I’ll be back in business!! Order of merit event at Tain and Brora next week and I’ve got my cattle prod at the ready for the alleged sheep on the course!!!?? Perfect!

Well it was yet another great couple of days on the course, played through at Whitekirk in the Optical Express tour and notched yet another victory!! That’s my 3 win on the tour in five events, something which I’m very proud of. My game over the last couple of days was in great shape and I felt very in control of all facets. My long game continued to be very solid and my short game and putting, which I have been spending most of my time on, was very good as well….allowing me to convert my birdie chances and getting me out of jail and making parsavers. Confidence is sky high and I have been thoroughly enjoying working with my Dad on my golf game…..I suppose the acid test is playing your best golf in tournaments, when it matters, and that is certainly something that I feel I am doing. Early night tonight then off down to the Roxburgh for a Scottish PGA one day event.

Another solid performance today saw me qualify very comfortably in 4rth place today with a 3 under par total and a nice little €900 in my pocket, much needed. Game was solid as a rock today hitting 18 greens in reg and making no bogies for the second day running. Very pleased overall and can’t wait to get to stage 2 in the beginning of December to get one stage closer to getting my tour card. With my form this year I feel incredibly confident and proud of the hard work that me and my Dad have put in and this week really validates what we have been working on. To have no drop shots in the last 36 in a pressure packed environment says it all. Working at the Braids again tomorrow then down to some work to stay sharp for my next event on the optical express tour on Wednesday at Whitekirk. Hopefully I’ll get rid of this virus asap!!!

Had a great day today, shot 5 under 67 to get me up to 6th place and level par for the tournament going into the last round. What made it all the more satisfying was the fact that I have been loaded with the virus that has kept my fiancé off her work for the last couple of days and I’m feeling dreadful! Yesterday afternoon I felt arguably the worst I’ve ever felt on a course and struggled round in 77 blows, 5 over par!! This morning though, aided with the assistance of a flu strength Lemsip, I made 13 pars and 5 birdies, a score which I would have ripped your arm of for had it been offered to me on the first tee! Top 3 professionals get paid tomorrow and that is the target I’m setting for myself. Early to bed tonight then a 9.40 tee time…….can’t wait.
